Hip Pain While Sleeping On One Side

You finally get into bed after a long, exhausting day. You roll onto your favorite side to sleep… then it starts a deep, sharp, burning pain builds on the outside of your hip. It spreads down your thigh. You toss, turn, flip sides nothing helps.

By morning, you’re not rested… you’re frustrated and most probably your back hurts too. Now do not blame the your mattress.

You may also think its arthritis, you’re getting old or maybe a its sciatica because of lower back pain that you have been treating for so long.

Why Hip Hurts When You Sleep On One Side

If the pain is hyper-localized on the hard bony bump on the side of your hip and it gets worse when you lay on it your mattress is entirely innocent.

The problem is your tendon from the gluteus medius muscle is inflammed and cannot allow you body weight on the prominence of the outer bone where it attaches.

When persistent weight is exerted on the side of the hip the tiny fluid-filled sac protecting the bone gets crushed and this leads to more irritable pain.
